Airport gyms

We need to normalize airport gyms. Since I’m already showing up early for my flights. Instead of spending that time sitting in a lounge or relaxing, I would much rather show up to the airport in my workout clothes, lift then change and go to the gate.

If they can get subpar “lounges” that barely pass off as rooms with a snack bar on the priority pass, a gym should be on there as well. I’d even be on board with paying extra if we could get an equinox in the Centurion lounge.

The costs are already pretty high for these passes and lounges, but hot take, instead of glorifying bars in lounges, we should be prioritizing health and wellness.

For long international flights, I’d pay over $50 to get a day pass to the gym to just move my body before being sedentary for 9 hours.

There’s loads of benefits that go along with this. I never see going through the airport as a fun experience. I’m either traveling for work/family or traveling for vacation. If I’m traveling for work, I’d love to get a lift or run in to relieve some stress while maintaining my routine. If I’m traveling for vacation, I’m probably not workout out that much during the trip (although my vacations are increasingly becoming primarily fitness focused), so getting a workout in at the beginning and end would be a great addition to the trip.
